9 Fast Home Remedies to Get Rid of Boil

What is a Boil?

A boil is a skin disease that begins in a hair follicle or sebaceous gland that produces oil in our body. If not treated in time, it increases in size. At first, the affected area turns red and gradually a tender lump is formed, filled with the fluid. Some boils cause pain in and inflammation too which increases the irritation in the skin. After 4 to 6 days, the bump begins turning white as discharge gathers under the skin.

The most widely recognized spots for boils are on the face, neck, armpits, shoulders and eyelids. There are several products available in a market to solve this problem but all most every person who is suffering wants to get rid of boils naturally.

  1. Apply white toothpaste on boil

White toothpaste contains anti-inflammatory properties. It is a renowned home remedy for burns and allergies. Apply white toothpaste on boil and leave it for 30 minutes. Rinse off with water to notice the improvement.

  1. Onion

Onion has antiseptic properties that makes it an ideal remedy to treat a boil. It helps treat the pain and inflammation around the boils. It speeds up the healing process and draw out the heat in the boil which can burst the boil. Simply cut an onion into thick pieces and gently rub it over the affected area. Place the onion on the boil and cover the area with a cloth and leave for a while. Change the slices after a few minutes. Repeat this regularly to get rid of the boil.

  1. Milk Cream

This is another good remedy to use and get rid of boils naturally. Milk cream helps to ease the pain, relax the boil surface to break the head. Also, it hydrates the surface making it soft. Apply some fresh milk cream on the boil. Leave it for at least 15 minutes. Then rinse it off with the warm water.  Alternatively, you can mix 1 teaspoon of milk cream with a spoon of white vinegar and a pinch of turmeric powder. Cover the boil with this paste for 15 minutes, then rinse off with warm water.

  1. Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil is famous for its antibacterial, anti-fungal, and antiseptic properties which is useful for treating not just boils alone, but acne and pimples too. Add a teaspoon of tea tree oil and lavender oil in a small bowl. Dip a cotton ball into it and apply it over the affected area. Repeat this remedy until you find pleasing results.

Honey is used for numerous health and cosmetic purposes. Boil figs in warm water till they wear out. When this is done, add honey and apply the mixture over the affected area and rinse off after some time. You will notice immediate results.

  1. Use Epsom Salt

Epsom salt is absorbent in nature and helps to get rid of boils. It helps to speed up the healing process. Simply mix 2 cups of water and ¼ cup of Epsom salt in a bowl. Dip a washcloth in this mixture and gently dab it over the boil. Leave it on for a few minutes and then repeat it again. However, if the boil is on the stomach or on the back then you can go for the bath in bathtub. Fill your bathtub with warm water and add a cup of Epsom salt to it. Soak yourself in the tub for a few minutes. Do this daily to get rid of the boils.

  1. Apple Cider Vinegar to Get Rid of a Boil

Apple cider vinegar is a natural antiseptic which has antimicrobial properties that helps combats infection. In a bowl mix a tablespoon of ACV and a teaspoon of honey. Mix it carefully and apply over the affected area with the help of a cotton swab. Leave it on for 15-20 minutes and then rinse it off with warm water. Repeat this 2-3 times a day to get rid of a boil. If you find ACV too harsh, then you can add a teaspoon of water to the mixture to dilute it.

  1. Garlic

Garlic, which contains antibacterial properties, is another home remedy which can help you get rid of boil. Extract juice from fresh garlic and apply the juice to the boils with the help of a cotton swab and leave it on for a few minutes. Repeat this process 2 times daily. Also, you can make a paste of garlic and turmeric. Apply this paste over the affected area and rinse it off when it dries.

  1. Warm Compression 

Warm compress will help to ease the pain and draw out the pus. It will bring out all the infection along with this pus. For warm compression you just have to follow simple instructions given below:

  • Take a cotton ball or a cloth, dip it in a hot water. Squeeze the cotton ball or the cloth tightly. Apply this cotton ball on the affected area.
  • Leave it until you feel the warmness and as soon you stop feeling it rinse it again in the water and apply on the.
  • Repeat this for 4-5 times for a week.
