Woman Claims Drinking Her Urine Made Her Lose Weight

A woman has come out with a bizarre claim that drinking her urine helped her burn considerable amount of body fat.

People are now going for odd beauty and health trend which involve drinking urine to lose weight. The Asian Age reports that a meteorologist from Idaho claims that turning to the toilet helped him lose more than 13 kilos as he felt more invigorated too.

The meteorologist recommended it to a painter, Julia Sillaman.  The woman has now claimed to have lost 12 kg. Apart from the weight lose, the urine she drank also treated her acne, she claimed.

The weird practice has been around for centuries. Some people even believe that it can reduce the appearance of wrinkles.

Scientists have claimed that there is no evidence that drinking urine is beneficial, adding that contrary to claims, it may even be detrimental to health.

Although urine therapy is very common for weight loss, but it is a natural feeling for anyone to be sickened with the thought of drinking their own urine.

Basically, urine cannot be considered a waste product because it contains 95% of water, 2.5% of urea and the remaining 2.5% is a combination of enzymes, hormones, salts, and minerals. Though it flushes out all the toxins from our body, but it is a non-toxic byproduct of the blood.

The urine does not go directly into the bloodstream when it is consumed directly but makes its way into the digestive system where a sorting of all the ingredients is done. After which the important ingredients are retained for further use and the toxins are cast-off.
