Pores are small openings in the skin that that are connected to your hair follicles and release oils and sweat. Some people have large facial pores. This could be caused by an increased sebum production, leading to oily skin, acne, sun damage, or noncomedogenic (water-based) makeup.

It may be impossible to change the size of your pores, but there are some home remedies that can help reduce their appearance.
Get rid of makeup before bed
It is wrong to sleep with your makeup on. When you go to bed you’re your makeup on, the cosmetics can combine with dirt, oil, and bacteria left over from the day and clog up your pores. This can make them appear larger the next day. No matter how exhausted you are, it is vital to wash your makeup off at night.
Wear sunscreen every day
Sun damage can expose you to cancer, wrinkles. It can also dry out your skin and make your pores look bigger. To avoid this, use a product with an SPF of at least 30. You should apply it at least 15 minutes before you head outside.
Check your skin care products
If you notice large facial pores, then it may be time to change your skin care products. Using too much oil can lead to large pores. It may be unwise to use products intended to clear excess sebum and acne from your face for a long time. Using it for a short time is fine, but they can irritate your skin with long-term use.
The salicylic acid in these products can remove the top layers of your skin, thereby producing a drying effect, causing your pores to look smaller. But if your skin becomes too dry, your sebaceous glands increase sebum production to replenish the lost moisture. This leads you back to oily skin.

This can be avoided by using astringents, oil-based masks, and deep-cleaning facial scrubs for only a couple of weeks at a time:
Also, use noncomedogenic (water-based) products. Comedogenic, or oil-based, should be avoided by those with oily skin.
Use a clay mask
Clay masks is potent for helping to get rid of dirt, dead skin in pores, and to remove oil, thereby helping to make your pores look smaller. You can use clay once or twice per week. Exfoliating and using a clay mask in the same day can be tough on your skin and increase your risk of irritation.
Cleanse your face
There are good facial cleansers that can remove excess dirt and oil without completely stripping your skin of moisture. Go for gel-based cleanser for large pores related to oily skin. Normal to dry skin can benefit from creamy cleansers.

Cleansers that contain soap or scrubbing agents should be strictly avoided by all skin types. These can cause pores to look bigger.
Exfoliate with AHAs or BHAs
The American Academy of Dermatology recommends exfoliating just one to two times per week. Exfoliation helps to eliminate excess flakes that can clog your pores without over-stripping your skin. You can avoid exfoliating if you’re currently having an acne breakout, to avoid irritating your pimples.

Opt for exfoliants with either alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs) or beta-hydroxy acids (BHAs). BHAs are also known as salicylic acids and should be avoided by those with aspirin allergy.
Drink lots of water
Water can also benefit your pores and general skin health by helping to get rid of toxins from your pores, improving your complexion, and hydrating your skin internally. Drink at least eight glasses of water or other liquids daily.
