Home Remedies for Irregular Periods

Irregular menstrual periods could be caused by different factors such as hormonal imbalance, endometriosis, PCOS, all of which requires different medical attention.

A woman’s menstrual cycle normally would comprise of 28 days starting the first day of menstruation to the next one. However, some women might have longer cycles for up to 38 days. This vary from woman to woman and other factors. Your periods are still considered normal if they follow a similar pattern of 28 days or even 38 days. However if you are getting your periods early or way too late and they don’t follow a pattern of a set number of days, then it can be described as irregular periods.

However, there are some effective home remedies that works like magic.

Use apple cider vinegar (ACV)

To get fast relieve from irregular period, you may have to regularly consume apple cider vinegar. Avoid drinking raw apple cider vinegar. You have to dilute it with water and take it every morning until your period regularizes.

Ginger 

Ginger contains lots of medicinal and therapeutic properties that helps to treat irregular periods. Ginger provides relief from various period related issues including menstrual pains and cramps. According to some studies, ginger helps to lower excessive blood loss during the period, gives relief from painful periods, raise mood and other physical discomforts of menstruation. However, having ginger regularly during periods or few days before the period starts helps to normalize the cycles.

Cinnamon water

Studies have found that cinnamon water helps to regulate menstrual cycles and helps treat PCOS. (Though the study was limited by a small number of participants). Cinnamon also eases the symptoms of nausea and vomiting during periods. They are also believed to be an excellent home remedy for primary dysmenorrhea.

To prepare cinnamon water, soak two or three sticks of cinnamon a glassful of water and drink it early in the morning on days when you have a menstrual flow.
